Your vote is your voice! Maricopa county voters have the opportunity to make their voices heard by voting in elections that take place, prominently, in November. In actuality, voting happens at many points throughout the year, given the variety of local, state and federal elections. Voters help decide issues that impact our region’s representation and quality of life.

U.S. colleges and universities have an active role in efforts to encourage voter registration. According to the 1998 Reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, an institution of higher education must make a "good faith effort to distribute a mail voter registration form . . . to each student enrolled in a degree or certificate program and physically in attendance at the institution, and to make such forms widely available to students at the institution."

MCCCD encourages you to be a registered voter and exercise your right to vote!

In Arizona, you can easily register to vote online. You can also check your voter registration status, update your existing registration or download a paper form by visiting the Maricopa County Elections Department website or the Secretary of State website.

There are Many Ways to Get Involved in the Election Process

  1. Register to vote and exercise your right to vote.
  2. Be an informed voter by verifying your voter registration status and researching what will be on your ballot. You can do this by visiting the websites for Maricopa County Elections or the Secretary of State.
  3. Provide assistance and customer service on election day as a trained poll worker. At the Maricopa Community Colleges, expect to find:
    1. Voter registration forms at a central location on each campus.
    2. Links to helpful resources such as online voter registration, Maricopa County Elections, and the Arizona Secretary of State.
    3. Other college-wide efforts aimed at increasing participation in elections among Maricopa students.

Remember, your vote is your voice, and every vote counts!
